Guess what? It’s 2024 and if you’re a React developer, you should probably be using Server Components in your apps.
Why?
The TLDR; of that answer is:
They’re great for data-fetching.
They give you the tools to create faster experiences for your users.
And, my personal favorite, they help you simplify the code of your client components.
Ever since I worked on my course about state management with RSC on NextJS I fell in love with server components.
What about you? Have you tried them yet?
If not, I recently wrote an article that covers the above 3 reasons in more detail, you might want to check it out!
I’d love to know how you feel about react server components, and on top of that, if you’re one of the people who bought the course (I’m happy to report that many of you did, thank you!), I’d love to know what you thought about it! (especially if you didn’t enjoy it!). So feel free to reach out!
What else has happened since my last email?
As you’re probably noticing, I’m trying to be more active on this platform, and I’m trying to reach out more often! Hopefully, providing value to some of you!
So, first: if you’re interested in any topics in particular that you’d like me to cover, feel free to reach out by replying to this email or by leaving a comment on this article. I’d love to hear from you!
Second, lately I’ve been working on my new podcast, The Scripting Den podcast.
So far, there are 3 episodes already published, and next Saturday the first interview is going to go live. I’ve interviewed Graham Ritchie, a web accessibility expert who’s passionate about making the web more accessible for everyone. Make sure to give it a listen, I’m sure you’ll enjoy what he has to say!
And the other episodes that you can find there already are.
Episode 2: Where I answer the question of whether we’re going to be replaced by a coding AI or not. What do you think? Will we?
Episode 3: Where I cover some advice on what not to say to your manager at work. Based on my 20 years of experience, I’ve picked up a few things that I know for sure, managers don’t really want to hear.
And again, don’t miss the video episode with Graham (link will work after next Saturday once the episode is live!) where you can actually see our faces during the interview!
I’d love to know what you think of the podcast so far and if there are any topics you’d like me to cover (maybe you’re curious about something from our industry), please do let me know!
That’s it for today, I hope you’re having a great week so far!
Catch you on the next one!
