More on the topic of online tutorials

I have an idea and I'd like to know what you think about it

You might’ve already seen it on Twitter, but in my effort to try and help mitigate the issue with online tutorials, I’m trying to validate how interesting a fully detailed course would be for new developers.

I’m talking about a project-based course, where each project would cover everything from ideation to production deployment. Primarily on video, but with an extra add-on of a written guide + Discord server for doubts.

I made this silly trailer for the project, and thought you might enjoy it:

The point of the project is to cover everything, so you, a beginner (I’m assuming here), would be able to see everything you’ve been missing. And not only that, but also you’d get detailed explanations as to how those tasks are done and why they need to be done.

Clearly I’m not talking about a 10-minute video, this is going to be long and detailed, but hopefully, also, very informative and filled with insights.

Is it going to be free?

While it is true that most tutorials online tend to be free, the amount of effort this project requires is too high for me to do it completely free.

That said, I do want to make it as accessible as possible to everyone, which is why my initial pricing plan is quite low.

What do you think? Would you be willing to invest that amount of money in your education as a developer?

Am I trying to sell you the course?

I’m actually not! I promise, but given how you’re my most accessible pool of developers (and some of you are just getting started), I thought this would be a perfect group to ask for validation.

I honestly think this could help many developers, but what do you think?

Is it too much detail? Perhaps too expensive? Or perhaps is too cheap and you simply don’t trust courses that go for such low prices?

I know I asked something similar last time, but now that I have the details here, I’d love to know what you, as a developer, think of this project.
